This report presents automotive applications of life cycle assessment (LCA) which has attracted public attention as an e!ective tool for evaluating environmental burdens quantitatively. It also reviews the background of how LCA has been introduced, and discusses future possibilities of LCA applications to automobiles as well as important aspects of LCA.
